Rewriting the Narrative: A Comic Book Project by Troubled Teen Industry Survivors

Rewriting the Narrative is a collaborative workgroup bringing together survivors of the Troubled Teen Industry who want to share their stories, heal through creative expression, and advocate for meaningful reform.

Together, we will create a comic book anthology that illustrates real experiences inside Youth Residential Treatment Centers. This collective project aims to show lawmakers and the broader public the urgent need for transparency, oversight, and reform.

• Individuals interested in storytelling, art, writing, or advocacy

• Anyone passionate about transforming lived experiences into powerful educational tools

• Amplify survivor voices through creative storytelling

• Produce a compelling comic book to share with lawmakers and advocacy groups

• Build community, solidarity, and empowerment
